Hydrodynamic force

The force exerted by moving water, including the impact of waves, ice, debris, and high velocities. This force consists of frontal pressure against the structure, drag forces along the sides, and suction forces on the downstream side. It has the potential to move a building, knock it over, batter its walls, and scour supporting fill.
