Regulatory floodplain

Floodplain to which a community applies their floodplain development or management regulations, including new construction, the repair of Substantially Damaged buildings, and Substantial Improvements to existing buildings. Communities participating in the National Flood insurance program must adopt a regulatory floodplain that includes, at a minimum, the Special Flood Hazard Area.
